A beautifully detailed vintage alabaster statue depicting Augustus of Prima Porta, one of the most recognizable images of the first Roman emperor.
Augustus stands in classical military dress with one arm raised, his elaborately decorated cuirass and draped garments rendered in miniature. At his feet appears the small Cupid figure characteristic of the famous ancient sculpture, while a dark marble base gives the pale alabaster figure a striking contrast.
A handsome fragment of classical imagery with the quiet presence of an object collected from another time.

CONDITION
In good as-found vintage condition with general wear consistent with age. There are some scuffs and staining around the fingers.
