THE OBJECT
A charming vintage clear glass vessel raised upon three small feet and richly patterned with clusters of grapes, curling vines, leaves, and roses. Its rounded form gives it the wonderful appearance of a miniature glass cauldron.
The abundant grape and vine imagery recalls Dionysus—Bacchus to the Romans—and its long associations with wine, revelry, fertility, transformation, and abundance. A beautiful little vessel for an altar or ritual space, it may hold herbs, crystals, flowers, coins, or other small offerings, while remaining equally lovely as an unusual piece of vintage glass.
