An unusual antique Topsy Turvy doll, composed of two figures joined into a single reversible form. Turn the doll and one figure disappears beneath the skirts as the other emerges—a curious piece of folk doll tradition with an almost uncanny duality.
The hand-painted faces, aged fabric, and timeworn construction give her the character that only an object with a long life can acquire. Equal parts charming and peculiar, she belongs naturally among collections of antique dolls, folk objects, curiosities, and objects with a story to tell.

CONDITION
In as-found antique condition with visible age and wear throughout. There is staining to the fabric, and safety pins and push pins have been used to hold portions of the clothing in place. No significant breaks or tears noted.
