THE OBJECT
A remarkable miniature photo album from the 19th century, bound in deep red embossed leather and filled with tiny gem tintype portraits.
Within its diminutive pages survives a collection of faces from another time—men and women carefully preserved in miniature, their identities now unknown. Each portrait offers only a fleeting glimpse into a life once lived, transforming this tiny album into something far more intimate than its size might suggest.
With its aged leather, delicate gold-tone hardware, and original photographs still held within, this is a particularly evocative fragment of Victorian-era photographic history.
